This super easy airplane craft uses recycled cardboard and a paper fastener to make the propeller really spin!
If your kids are obsessed with vehicle crafts and want to play with their own real airplane, this is a fun and inexpensive craft you can put together quickly and they’ll play with for hours. Your little pilot can decorate their plane however they want to and express their creativity!
So gather your materials, and let’s go on a crafty adventure.

Materials
- Cardstock
- Colored construction paper
- Glue
- Scissor
- Paper fastener/brass fastener/split pin
Instructions:
Step 1)
Print and cut out the template pieces.

Step 2)
Trace the template pieces onto the recycled cardboard and construction papers or onto colored cardstock.

Step 3)
Assemble the pieces with glue. If you’re using recycled cardboard and construction paper, glue them together first to form a sturdy cardboard airplane. Then glue on the airplane wings and tail piece as well as the windows on the top of the plane.

Step 4)
Punch a hole at the tip of the airplane and in the middle of the propeller shape so that you can put in a paper fastener and make the propeller move.

Now you can play with your fun airplane craft!

Tips & Troubleshooting
Younger children may need help with cutting out the template pieces. Children in Kindergarten should be able to use safety scissors to cut the pieces for this craft.
You can either use colored card stock for this craft, or use recycled cardboard and glue paper on top of it, paint it, or color it to make it beautiful. Thin cardboard from a cereal box, cracker box or the cardboard from a case of pop will work great.
A thicker piece of cardboard from cardboard boxes will work too, but kids will need more help cutting out the shapes for the body of the plane.
