Step 2)
Trace the template heart onto two sheets of blue paper, three sheets of yellow paper and three sheets of black paper. You can either cut out each of the paper hearts individually or keep them stacked on top of each other and cut out the whole stack at once.

Step 3)
At the bottom edge of your paper bag, glue the first black heart. Then alternate between gluing yellow and black until all 6 layers are glued down.

Step 4)
Trace the antennae pieces onto yellow and black paper. The small hearts will be yellow and the two small strips will be black. Glue them together to make two bee antennae. Glue the antennae behind the yellow heart; that will be your bee’s face.

Step 5)
Glue the blue hearts behind the striped bee’s body to give it wings. You can either draw on the bee’s face or cut more small pieces of black paper to glue on as the bee’s eyes and mouth.

Tips & Troubleshooting
Cutting Multiple Pieces:
When cutting out multiple hearts at once, make sure the papers are firmly aligned and held together to avoid uneven shapes. You can use small paper clips to keep the stack in place while cutting.
Glue Tips:
Use a glue stick to avoid wrinkles on the paper. For younger kids, liquid glue with a fine-tip applicator can help with precision.
Prevent Mess:
Place a scrap piece of paper under the project while gluing to protect your work surface from spills or smudges.
Adding Personality:
Let kids get creative with their bee’s face! Markers or googly eyes can be a fun alternative to cut paper features.
